In Christian worship, Christians often pray for one another and the Lord. Praying with others for others is something that most of us do all the time. It’s called prayer, but we often forget that prayer should be special and individual to the person who is praying.
Some individuals are more comfortable in daily prayers than others. Praying for one another should not be about your relationship with that person, but should be a personal prayer. There is something uniquely beautiful about sharing Christ’s love with those whom you love.
When you pray for one another, you are sharing your prayer with God. When you express your prayer to God, He can hear it, know who you are, and respond to your prayer.
In daily prayers, we make requests of God. We ask God to answer our prayers and to guide us into the path that we believe He wants us to walk.
In daily prayers, we declare what we need from God and express what we want Him to do for us. We put down our vision and set goals, and find joy and peace in knowing that He hears our prayers and responds.
Many times, we speak of the Lord by name. In worship, this is done in praise and thanksgiving. By hearing God’s name, we feel more connected to Him, and less like we are talking to someone else.
If we cannot get close to God in worship, we must get closer to Him in prayer. When we are able to commune with Him, we can feel His presence in the body. When we can see Him in His Holy Spirit, we can feel His will and His peace.
What better way to share in God’s glory than to share in his life? What better way to learn about God’s word and mission than to hear about his life? What better way to honor God than to learn his name?
We can learn about God’s will through the daily practice of prayer. In the Christian worship, we can hear his name, feel his love, and see his glory. In Christian prayer, we can share in the joy and peace of his presence.
Our daily prayers can become part of God’s way of talking to us. In this way, our Christian prayers become part of God’s purpose in our lives.
